SHORT STORIES
Lots of short stories, almost all based upon dreams & nightmares - below is a summary of a few of them.

Anti-social media
This story is one of those apocryphal things: the exception that proves the rule. The first part documents my actual experiences at Los Angeles International Airport and extrapolates from there (although I didn't get tasered).

Social media has taken over completely. Talking, speaking to someone, is now a criminal offence, unless you get prior consent. 'Verballing' is now considered anti-social; using social media is the only accepted way of communicating.
Fine for the youngsters who are swift with their thumbs, but for older people who don't really accept this - well, opening your mouth can lead you into real trouble. Hospital, even.
Little green women (and men)
How to feed a planet of 50 billion people when there is not enough food? Well, there's plenty of sunlight. If it's good enough for plants, why not people?
Of course, nothing comes for free.
Tuina and Dolph
Tuina's parents want her to marry a nice boy, of their choosing. It is hard enough to get her married, with her singular looks and webbed fingers and toes. But much to her parent's consternation Tuina is drawn to Dolph, the swimming instructor at the local pool, and he to her. They share a love of the sea and feel an instinctive affinity for the sea creatures, with whom they spend more and more time - ultimately, without end.
The ultimate driving pleasure
Another of those apocryphal things: except this time it is based upon my frustration and experiences with car salesmen, particularly of certain expensive makes of cars and their drivers. Rarely for me, it is a comedy.

Arrogance and ignorance are the bywords of the car salesmen and saleswomen for some expensive makes of cars; as is the way they are driven. Woe betide any sales person who shows that they know their product, understand their customer and treat the customer with respect - they simply won't make the cut.
And the cars themselves have an expensive AI option: not as you might expect 'artificial intelligence', but in fact 'Arrogance & Ignorance'. It's OK though, you can save some money by omitting a few other options, like indicators: drivers of these cars hardly ever use them anyway, expecting others to get out of their way.
